Middle School, Grades 6–8
Students have a broad and balanced range of subjects, including the core subjects of English, Humanities, Mathematics and Science. In addition, courses in Visual Art, Drama, a Language other than English (or EAL if needed), Physical Education and exploratory subjects in areas such as a number of Design and Technology specialisms ensure that students are able to develop across a range of academic disciplines. The expsoure to this cvaried range of sbjects is intended in preparation for the specialisation needed in the certificate courses offered as part of the IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10 in High School.
Our UWCSEA Middle School programme intentionally refines core interdisciplinary skills initiated in many inquiry-based Primary School curricula. Students have subject specialist teachers—who specialise in teaching Middle School age students—guiding them in fundamental subject-specific skills required for higher studies.
