One of the oldest Global Concerns projects, Himalayan Global Concern has had a focus on supporting different education projects in Nepal. In the past, Himalayan has supported schools and health programmes in Sikles, Tengboche and Namche Bazaar and Pokara. We were also very active in building a community centre in response to the 2015 Nepal earthquake.
We support Shree Mangal Dvip a school located in Kathmandu, Nepal. This school provides quality, free education to Sherpa children, an underprovided and neglected ethnicity in Nepal. These children normally come from high up in the mountains where the government has not invested in sufficient infrastructure or education. As such, with this quality education, the children will have the tools to achieve their dreams and break through the poverty that their families have been trapped in.
Our main aim is to fund five scholars at the school, covering their entire fees and expenses. You too can help this cause by sponsoring the annual cost of a day student US500 or a boarding student US1,050.
