Through the NGOs it supports, Bombay Street Kids aims to give children of the poorest sections of Mumbai society, belonging to dispossessed migrant labour families, the tools necessary to succeed in life. The children are given a basic education and taught vocational and technological skills.
Bombay Street Kids at UWCSEA began their partnership with VOICE in August 2000, and currently supports a computer-training centre along with the daily mini meal scheme for primary school children living in makeshift homes beside the Borivali railway line.
VOICE: Previously, UWCSEA supported the establishment of Sanjivani, a safe hostel for orphaned girls by purchasing the land for its construction.
