Oliver Sampson

Head of Outdoor Education and Duty Manager, Dover Campus

I joined UWCSEA in 2009 for the opportunity to develop personally and professionally. Our K-12 school environment means I am able to connect with students on a regular basis and foster their development through an extended programme over a number of years. The culmination of the programme in Project Week - the fact that this was what the College was aiming to support our students to do - was the hook for me.

Immediately prior to joining UWCSEA, I was as a Freelance Outdoor Instructor and Expedition Leader based in South Wales, UK, and before that, I worked for a charity in inner-city London that ran outdoor programmes for disaffected youth with the view to supporting them back into education. I studied a BSc Outdoors and Environmental Education at Liverpool John Moores University.
