East teen chef Rohan cooks for 250 children from Siragu Montessori
Rohan Sureash, a 16-year-old teen chef from UWCSEA East Singapore personally cooked a Vegetarian Chinese lunch for the kids who are currently studying at the Siragu Montessori School in Avadi, Chennai, India. Rohan had earlier pledged his earnings from August to November 2019 and cooked a healthy, nutritious meal for 45 migrant workers in Singapore. You can read more about him here.
On 8 January, Rohan cooked up his magic for 250 underprivileged kids of the Siragu Montessori School, Chennai. Rohan treated these kids who belong to the below poverty line and mostly first-generation school-goers, to some mouth-watering Chinese lunch of Noodles, Fried Rice and Cauliflower Manchurian.
Rohan had created a donation campaign on Give India and set himself a modest target of S$1000 (about Rupees 50,000) for the event. Rotary Club of Madras Down Town was so impressed by the unique idea that they pledged another S$1000.
Rohan was able to mobilise Rs. 122,500 in total and after expenses for the lunch he was able to give Rs 100,000 about S$ 2000 to the school for their development activities
