A fantastic start for East Football Academy

Led by a team of experienced coaches from the UK and Singapore, the East Football Academy(EFA) based at UWCSEA East offers our football community opportunities to develop, learn and experience a pathway-led programme. Established in August 2022, the central role of the academy is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for players of all ages to hone their skills in a structured, high-quality system that allows them to maximise their potential.
EFA has had a fantastic start, with 80 players having joined the academy since it was founded. Under the guidance of experienced coaches such as Head Coach Ryan Northmore, they have gone on to take part in multiple tournaments with resounding success. The team has been busy training, getting to understand each other and how to work together while also practicing essential football skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. As part of the ESPZEN League based here in Singapore, our EFA U10, U12 and U14 teams achieved multiple wins by defeating other teams 10–2, 7–1, and 13–3 respectively.

The Academy has plenty to look forward to. We have some exciting partnerships in the pipeline to work alongside local partners to support the development of football for children across Tampines and the surrounding areas. Our aim is to knock down some of the barriers that families face when children want to enjoy the benefits of playing football.
We have a developmental approach where we elevate learning above all else by taking tried and tested methods from our coaching leads who have worked extensively in Europe and blending it with UWC educational principles to create a unique football programme. We have tournaments, football camps, and tours planned so there is a lot we are excited about at EFA. Keep an eye out for all things EFA by following the academy on Instagram.
